For guitar, I'm almost exclusively a spring-reverb guy, and the spring setting on the RV-7 leaves a good bit to be desired. I actually thought the reverse reverb was the best I've heard, but that's pretty gimmicky. The other delays were okay, I guess. They also sounded a tad digital to me.

I have both pedals and it's a toss-up as to which is "better". The RV-7 is much more versatile, lots of settings to play with. The Holy Grail has a more tube-like reverb sound. But the HG is a lot noisier and has only 3 settings. Sometimes less is more.
