With the contentious midterm elections happening next week, the advocates for democratic action are again out in force, with the familiar rallying cries: “Get out and vote!” “Make sure to register!” “Power to the people!” WebWhere does the USA rank and what does this tell us? In 2015, the USA was ranked 20th most democratic country out of 167. Even though it’s not perfected it shows that the USA is at least comparably democratic and open to participation and influence from citizens. What is central to democracy?
